Eddy-Jet Rotating Seals High
pressure water is very effective at cleaning and removing unwanted materials
and coatings. The nozzle design characteristics, quantity of nozzles, pressures,
and flows all enter into the system performance. It has also been found
that the rotation of a nozzle(s) in patterns also enhances the effectiveness
of cleaning certain materials.
As such, the design of Eddy-Jet Rotating Seals to withstand 10,000 - 40,000 PSI and a range of flows is critical to the success of numerous cleaning systems such as: Grate, Floor, and Deck Cleaners , assembly line cleaners, and reel seals for flex lance tube bundle cleaners. JETECH® has helped pioneer the development of rotating seals
for many different services. The 922 RS has been on full-time conveyor
service in Germany for nearly 4 years in a plate-mounted pallet cleaner.
This application and many others has helped establish JETECH®
as a leader in rotating seals. These rotating seals are sometimes referred
to as rotating nozzles or swivels , but whatever you wish to call them
- buy JETECH® quality. The Eddy-Jet 953 RN The 953 RN is a high performance rotating seal capable of handling up to 40,000 PSI at 6 GPM. The shaft is balanced between two bearing sets within a housing and is capable of up to 3,000 RPM rotational speed. The inlet adapter accepts high pressure hose utilizing the coned and threaded type fittings. Maintenance of this seal has proven to be minimal and a minor change in seal assembly is effected by removal of a snap ring retainer and may be accomplished in less than five minutes. The 953 RN has been used in many different applications such
as: 2 nozzle lead paint removal system, the TAPT Rotating High Pressure Gun
, the Reaction Propelled Free Spinner Nozzle for the dump guns and
many new developmental systems. The Eddy-Jet 922 RS and 923 RS The 922 RS rotating seal is capable of operating at 20,000 PSI and 50 GPM while the sister product 923 RS operates at 30,000 PSI and 42 GPM. Both rotating seals are capable of speeds to 1500 RPM. Construction of these high flow/high pressure seals is rugged. These two models have two (2) radial bearing units and a thrust bearing as well as three (3) rings of packing, a back-up ring, and spacer ring. The seal may be serviced by removal of four bolts. Maintenance of this rotating seal is minimal - a daily application of grease to the grease fittings on the side of the body. Seal change-out (seldom required if the feed water is clean) can be accomplished in ten minutes. The inlet adapter accepts high pressure hose utilizing the coned and threaded type fittings. The rotating shaft extending from the 922 RS and 923 RS seal is designed to connect to the coned type seal. The rotating nozzle configuration used with the seal may consist of a single block in which one or more nozzles are installed on a nozzle hub that fits on the end of the shaft. The nozzles may be rotated with a chain / belt drive from an air, hydraulic, or electric motor, or the nozzles may be made self-rotating. These two rotating seals have been used on
the Grate, Floor,
and Deck Cleaner
, the overhead chain cleaner, the plate-mounted pallet cleaner, and
the tire recycling rubber delaminator system as well as other newly designed
systems. The Eddy-Jet 952 RS The 952 RS rotating seal is capable of operating at 20,000 PSI and a capacity of 13 GPM. This seal may be rotated up to 3,000 RPM. Construction of this rotating seal includes two (2) sets of radial bearings, a two (2)-piece body, and a four (4)-nozzle block. The packing may be removed by unscrewing the body half containing the high pressure hose inlet and removing the gland nut. The inlet connection accepts a coned and threaded type fitting. The 952 RS rotating seal is used in the Reaction-Propelled
Free-Spinner Nozzle for the hand lances and may be employed for numerous manual,
semi-automatic, and automated systems. The Eddy-Jet 54001-20 This Eddy-Jet Rotating Seal was initially employed as a reel seal for the JETECH® Automated Flex Lance Tube and Bundle Cleaning System. This reel seal fed all five (5) flexible cleaning lances and was supplied directly by the high pressure water pump system. The Eddy Jet 54001-20 was designed to handle 20,000 PSI at 22 GPM. Seal rotation in this product was slow due to the nature of the application, but may be run at 1 - 50 RPM. This high radial load rotating seal required a large seal assembly and has proven to be most reliable in field operation. |
